Wishing you were somehow here again!

So, Eric & I took Ryan on his first camping trip last night. It was a momentous occasion for us!!! We were going to go to my parents ward outing, but after hearing that my Mom's car was stuck in a ditch and they had driven around forever trying to locate the property, Eric & I took off and drove a little further East to the Uintas. We stayed at a campground called Shingle Creek. By the time we got there and got the tent set up it was dark, and yikes was it cold. Ryan was put to bed quickly and Eric & I stayed up playing cards. I missed so much Debbie & Ben, thus the title of the blog. I missed focusing the hate by myself. It works much better when there are others focusing the hate. We were woken up several times during the night with squirrels running up and down our tent, this was a first for me. There have always been squirrels while camping, but never running up and down the tent. This morning we put Ryan is some super warm clothes because it was super cold outside. He looked so darling, please don't look at me in the pics, just check out the baby. HE is so CUTE!!! While we were packing up camp today we saw some deer just up from our site walking through the forest. It doesn't get any better than this!

Boating

Today, we went super early to East Canyon Reservoir to go boating with some of Eric's co-workers. We had so much fun. Ryan wasn't too thrilled about wearing the life jacket (it squeezes his cheeks together) but what can ya do? Eric tried out some chair boarding thing??? I think he is a little too tall for it, but then he did get some good water skiing in. Way to go. Once the life jacket came off Ryan was thoroughly enjoying himself.

Prunes

I just loved this picture of Ryan. He has the cutes dimples.

So, Ryan has been eating solid foods for a couple of weeks now, and today I fed him for the first time, prunes. He loved them! The only problem was keeping them in his mouth, because he had his hands all over his face. Thus, the prunes were getting all over and I mean all over!!! It's so funny watching his face when you discover that he likes something.

I also took Ryan to the park today with my niece Nikki. They both loved the swings.

Card Shark

I just love this picture. My family spent the weekend in Park City about a month ago, and Ryan was in love with the playing cards. It looks like Eric has a really good hand by Ryans face. He loved the contrasting red and black colors, or did he?? Maybe Eric did have a good hand. I've just decided that Ryan is going to be a card shark like myself.

Also, today we put Ryan on the swing. We were doing anything we could to keep him awake for another 45 minutes so we walked over to the playground and sat him down on the swing. It was so funny. He immediately started grinning and laughing. He is so cute. He didn't like being by himself on the little swing however. So, we just kept him on the big one with us. Isn't his smile adorable???

More Vacation Photos

My niece Allyson, all ready for church. Yes, she did dress herself!!
My niece Emily reading Ryan, The Little Mermaid.
Tyler sleeping on the sofa, I think he slept half the time we were there. He was probably thrilled to be on a soft couch instead of a tent.
Eric floating after being thrown on the Big Kahuna.
Eric swimming back to safety.
Thanks so much for making the trip great fam!!

Jackson Hole

This weekend we had a family vacation with Eric's family. We stayed in Driggs, Idaho, but spent most of our days in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We had so much fun. I was so scared for the drive, seeing how Ryan would do for 4 1/2 hours in the car. Luckily we hit nap time on the drive down, and he did fairly well on the way back, except for the last hour. The poor thing is so sick of the car. He was so good on the trip though. He slept pretty good most nights and was awesome during the day. As long as we were outside he was happy!
There were some adventures. Eric's brother Tyler is a river rafting guide on the Snake River and so he took the family on a rafting run. When they went over the Big Kahuna (rapid), Eric went flying out of the raft and into the water. Since we were watching from far away we thought it was my sister in laws fiance, Dave. So, on the video you can hear all of us yelling at Dave and he is waving at the camera sitting in the boat. We were laughing so hard watching it, I was crying from laughing so hard. If you want to see the picture of Eric falling out of the boat, just follow the link (http://snakeriver.elevationimaging.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=447987&type=store&category=447984&ps=2&start=2&template=fullsize)That night we went on a covered wagon dinner thing. A covered wagon took us up the canyon and we had a chuck wagon dinner. It was lots of fun and the program at the end was really entertaining.

We were also able to spend some time walking around town in Jackson. I have never done that and neither has Eric so we did all of the touristy things and had our pictures taken in front of the antlers and did some window shopping.

Ryan, all in all, was just a happy little boy like he always is!!
