Updating...finally

(eating dinner like a man)

So, we have been going through the motions at our house. We just try to get through each day and take it that one day at a time. Ryan is a hoot and is so much fun to be around. Since I haven't blogged much, I have some photos to show what we have been doing, and what Ryan has been able to get away with while I was sick.

Licking the pudding spoon!

Eric after running the St. George Marathon (3:27 baby)

Eating chips in the car

Helping me make pancakes!

Reading the Sunday Funnies, just like daddy

Drinking his cup of joe (the kids water cup at the bakery)

Yes, we actually made it out one day to Jungle Jims Playland, Ryan hated it!

And finally my favorite! I got him a trick or treat pumpkin at the store. When we got in the car I gave it to him to hold, next thing I know I can hear him gagging. I turn around, his head is in the bucket and he is pretending to throw up. Yes, I trained him well. The funny thing is listening to him, because that must be how I sound for him to mimick me that way. It's hysterically funny. I wish I could capture it on video.

Goings On!

Well, it has been a long time since we last posted. I can't believe how sick you can get being pregnant. There were a couple of weeks where I almost couldn't get out of bed. But I am starting to have some good days now, which I will take! We went to see the doctor a couple of weeks ago and I really liked him. I will be getting a series of 10 shots in the next several weeks to help, hopefully, postpone labor. He did an ultrasound and we saw the little baby that has been making me so sick. Well, enough of that!

We went to St. George over the weekend and Eric ran the St. George Marathon. He did awesome. He ran it in 3 hrs 27 minutes. I think I would have been at mile 10, maybe, at that point. He was sore for a couple days, but today he is doing great! There were a bunch of people in our ward that ran it and it was fun to be with all of them. I did alright while we were down there. I am just so proud of Eric, it rained and it was freezing!!! But he took it all in stride and did great!

I feel so bad for Ryan. With me being sick, he has had endure it just like I have been. So, I have my throw up bucket that I use to throw up in. Now Ryan goes and stands in front of the bucket and pretends to be throwing up. Eric took Ryan to a meeting a couple of weeks ago and Ryan started making this gagging sound. The other guys were wondering what he was doing, and Eric said, "Oh, he is just copying his mommy" Yeah, the poor kid, thankfully he won't remember it.

We're Alive

So, I certainly have not been the best poster lately. I have spent my days laying down in bed letting the house get messy, letting the laundry pile up and letting Ryan watch way too much TV. Yeah, it hasn't been great, but we're getting through this one day at a time. I woke up this morning and actually didn't feel completely miserable. We ended up going to the Zoo with Kara and Nikki. The kids were so good and after we were done at the zoo we went to get some lunch. I ate a whole sandwich. I was so proud of myself, and the best part was I didn't throw it up right after I ate it. Woo Hoo.

I really need to post about the most amazing person, however. Eric Jones is the most wonderful person on the planet!!! I am in bed when he goes to work, and often go back to bed as soon as he gets home. He works 4 10 hour days and then comes home and takes care of Ryan, dishes, dinner and me. He had his 30th birthday last week, and I ended up in bed the whole time. The thing about Eric is, he doesn't complain. He will, instead, thank me for going through this to bring our kids into the world. He cleans up my vomit bucket, every time I'm done (sorry if that's too much info). He gets up with Ryan in the middle of the night. Ryan had the flu on Monday night and Eric pretty much took care of him because I couldn't do much. If I ask him to go to the store to get something, he always does and never seems put out. I don't think I could go through this without him and I thank my lucky stars every day that he is in my life. I don't think anybody else could deal with me, and he does it in stride. He is a trooper, and I owe him so big time for his birthday!! I love you babe!!!!!!!!

Are you serious?

Yesterday, was the first day that I was able to get out of the house and do something for over a week. I didn't feel wonderful, but good enough that Ryan could get out and play. Kara took us to the children's museum with her and nikki. The kids had so much fun. Ryan loved playing with the balls, in the water and in the cars. He was so happy to be out of the house. Well, last night we decided to put Ryan to bed without the binki. We really would like to get him off it. So around 9:00 he started crying. Me, being the tough one, told Eric oh he's fine, he just wants the binki. Eric went in to check on him and came in our room saying that Ryan had thrown up all over the crib. So, we threw Ryan in the tub and Eric did some laundry. The poor baby just kept heaving after his tummy was empty, he was so sad. I was with him while he was heaving at one point and had to have Eric come get him because it was my turn to start throwing up. So, then around 1:00 in the morning, I could hear Eric frantically looking for the bucket as he is running in the bathroom. Yup, he was up all night long sick. I certainly hope it is only the 24 hour bug. I don't even know if I've had it or not, because I feel like that every second of every day. I just thought, you've got to be kidding. So, today we are all home. Can you believe it?

Please Help Me!!!

I need help everyone. I am just over 8 weeks pregnant and I am sicker than a dog. I can't keep food down and my throat hurts so badly from throwing up so much. I am desperate for a solution to at least help me get through these next weeks. Please, anything would be wonderful!

Where have I been?

Yes, I know it has been a while since I last posted. There are many many things going on that I just don't want to bore all of you with. I have also been so sick the past week, and don't expect it to get much better at least for another month to two months. Yes, I am pregnant again. I don't know how it happened so fast. We weren't necessarily trying and viola, there you go. I am about 7 1/2 weeks along (farther along than I was when I had my miscarriage in July). I have been so sick, though. I've definitely been more sick this time than I was with Ryan. I still have been spotting and bleeding, but I'm told that is normal. So, hopefully this time we can keep the baby. So, this makes my due date April 19th, or so we think. Since we really don't know exactly how far along I am since I had the miscarriage. Ryan's due date was April 18th. Crazy??? We must be destined to have a child with an April birthday. Here's hoping this one stays in until April.

Five Years!! Really??

Our Wedding Day! 8.22.2003

Yesterday, Eric & I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. I cannot believe it has been 5 years since the two of us got married. We had such a good time yesterday, reminiscing about old times. We went to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and saw an amazing exhibit. They had paintings from Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, etc. It is amazing to see true works of art. After the museum we went to Thaifoon at Gateway. Yum Yum!! It was so good. We then took the train over to Temple Square and saw the Joseph Smith movie. It was very touching, but very emotionally draining. It is so sad to see the horrible things the prophet had to go through. But it was also very interesting to see a different side to Joseph Smith. My mom took Ryan and so Eric and I got to sleep in this morning. It was heaven! Thanks Mom!!

So, I have been thinking about what Eric and I have done together. In the last 5 years we have...

  • Travelled to New York City, Upstate New York, Niagara Falls, Chicago, Wisconsin, California (multiple times), Hawaii, Spain, and around the Utah/Idaho/Montana region camping!
  • Eric got his Master's Degree in Architecture
  • Eric spent a semester in Bluff, Utah (that sucked, for Ali that is)
  • Had a baby and added an entirely new realm of joy and fun to our life
  • Bought our wonderful little Town home
  • Got season tickets to Utah Football (Go Utes!)
  • Eric almost being a licensed Architect (hopefully 2 months to go)

I am sure there are many other things, but Eric is no help and I can't think of anything else. All I can say is that these have been the most fulfilling years of my life thus far. I am so thankful for Eric and look forward to many anniversaries to come!
